EDINBURGH 2022

WILDTOPIA is going to be at Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2022 for the sixt year in a row. We’re aiming for an in-person presence.

DANISH FOCUS AT EDINBURGH FESTIVAL FRINGE 2022

The Danish Arts Foundation promotes Danish performing arts of high artistic quality internationally. One of their international foci is presenting Danish Performing Arts at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in August 2020 – 2022.  In 2022 Edinburgh Festival Fringe will be a platform for high quality Danish Performing Arts.

In 2022 The Danish Arts Foundation has selected five signature projects:

WALK-MAN by Don Gnu (Physical Theatre)

ROCKY! by Fix & Foxy (Theatre)

ENGLISH SPEAKERS by Moribund (Performative sound installation)

TUESDAY NIGHT SLEEPING CLUB by hello!earth (immersive radio performance)

THE INSIDER by Katapult (Theatre)

The Danish showcase at EdFringe is presented and curated by The Danish Arts Foundation and produced by WILDTOPIA.  This means that WILDTOPIA will support Danish performing artists going to Edinburgh – with counseling, guidance and supporting the selected companies with the planning and presentation at Edinburgh Festival Fringe – individually and in preparatory workshops.

Furthermore WILDTOPIA creates a #DANISH storytelling reaching out to the audiences in Edinburgh – in collaboration with UK-partners as the LIST and Publicist Madelaine Bennett from Gingerbread communications. WILDTOPIA also reaches out to UK and the international performing arts industry – to co-create opportunities for Danish, UK and international performing arts professionals.

Thank you very much to Cultural Attaché Lone Britt Christensen at the Danish Embassy in London for a great consistent support.

2018 + 2019

In 2018 WILDTOPIA fostered a Nordic collaboration with other Nordic organisations navigating Edinburgh Festival Fringe. In 2019 this collaboration continued.  See more.

Based in Denmark, Danish performances are dear to us. That is why we in collaboration with the Danish Arts Foundation, The Development Platform of Performing Arts and The Danish Embassy in the UK made a collection of the Danish shows at EdFringe in 2019.

See it right here

WILDTOPIA have collaborated with Danish Artists in 2017 and 2018 – either with presenting shows or making contact and deal with venues.

2017

In 2017 WILDTOPIA went to Edinburgh Festival Fringe on a research trip (supported by and in collaboration with The Danish Arts Foundation, Udviklingsplatformen for scenekunst and CPH STAGE). We wanted to find out how to develop a season/showcase format in Edinburgh. We found out that the best format for a Nordic collaboration would be networking events.

WILDTOPIA believe in supporting each other, to grow together.

We wish to thank all the people who have helped us in this process.  Supporting, connecting, guiding, helping us on this road. You know who you are – THANK YOU very much.
